Ingredients for Meatball Stew
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/4 cup ofbread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/2 teaspoons ofsalt
- 1 teaspoons ofWorcestershire sauce
- 2 (8 ounce) cans oftomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 4 carrots, sliced
- 2 potatoes, quartered
- 1 package offrozen green beans
- 1 cup ofwater
Directions for Meatball Stew
Combine beef, bread crumbs, egg, salt, Worcestershire,
and 1/2 cup tomato sauce. Mix and shape into balls. Brown
meat balls in Wesson oil and drain excess fat. Place
vegetables, water, salt, and remaining tomato sauce in
covered pot and simmer 1 hour. Stir occasionally.
Thicken gravy, if desired. Variation: Substitute dry red wine and beef broth for
some or all of the tomato sauce and water. |
